Bio

Luna Sorrenti grew up in the culturally diverse city of Queens, NY. Inspired by a National Geographic documentary about redwood trees, she later moved to Sonoma County, where she earned a High Honors degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources, along with a certification in Interior Design from Santa Rosa College.

From a young age, Luna observed her father lead an amusements business in NYC, often tagging along to corporate events, block parties, and weddings. Since 2017, she’s gained hands-on experience in event planning and operations, volunteering for music festivals and eventually collaborating with community event production groups and audio-visual companies in Northern California. During this time, she has expanded her expertise in stage management, partnership development, and artist hospitality.

With six years of experience in retail sales, Luna also honed her ability to connect with clients by offering curated product selections while building lasting relationships.

Today, she is particularly drawn to opportunities that involve working with organizations dedicated to enriching communities through arts education, facilitating social gatherings, and supporting emerging artists and entrepreneurs in accessing essential resources.

Currently serving as Program Director for a non-profit community art center, her roles include frequent planning, executing, monitoring, and closing of projects related to youth art education, community art-related events, and stage management for live performances.

Luna’s 2024 youth summer camp focused on environmental literacy and creative arts was awarded $15,000 in funding from two local foundations.

Leadership & Work Ethic Statement

As a leader, I bring a collaborative approach that blends operational precision with community-driven values, inspired in part by the principles of Burning Man—radical inclusion, communal effort, and participation. With experience managing multi-site festivals, large volunteer crews, and diverse arts programs across departments, I lead by example with a strong work ethic, a commitment to deadlines, and a focus on optimizing systems for effectiveness.

In my previous roles, I’ve directed complex production schedules, facilitated interdepartmental committees, and overseen events ranging from intimate workshops to multi-venue festivals. I empower teams to make decisions, offer coaching to managers as needed, and maintain open, direct communication while remaining sensitive to interpersonal dynamics.

My leadership includes deep gratitude for volunteers, and I prioritize creating spaces where every contributor feels valued. Whether coordinating stages at a music festival, managing artist hospitality at a documentary film festival, or designing development plans for arts education programs, I hold a consistent standard: meet deadlines, support people, and build systems that allow creativity and collaboration to thrive.

A motto I firmly believe: “A challenge is an opportunity to innovate and collaborate.”
